3D Printed iPad Dashboard Mount
The aluminum prototype is at http://padrack.com. I have STL files for the cradle, base, and bottom hooks. I'm looking for bids to print it. Shipping extra. I want one to test and the plastic should be similar to polycarbonate.

The finished product is about 9.5" x 7.5" x 1".

I don't see a way to attach files here yet so email me at biz@svstartuplab.com.

printedsolid - I love the note in the bottom left corner of the page!

It looks like the design is all bent sheet metal. Have you considered just doing the same with polycarbonate? That's going to be a heck of a lot less cost and higher strength for a finished product than 3D printing is with PC.

jimpreston - @printedsolid I wasn't aware that PC could be bent. How do I research that process? For consumers I need a nice design and the current aluminum one looks too industrial.

printedsolid - I don't think it can be done cold without breaking the material. When I did it, we used wooden forms and careful application of a heat gun. You can also solvent weld polycarbonate. Google either 'form polycarbonate sheet' or 'solvent weld polycarbonate' and there are plenty of hits with instructional videos.
