Choosing the right person for the job?
I am in the market to have an original sculpted piece (action figure) scanned and printed. Every piece is separate: head, arms, legs, torso (2 halves). I don't want to send my master away to get the molds made for a low run production, Id rather have a 3D scanned and printed copy sent.

Some areas of the sculpt have a lot of detail and texture and I don't want any loss of quality from the original. I've looked through a number of different vendors here which all have a variety of scanning and printing hardware/software. What criteria should I use is selecting the right person? Should I expect a free consultation?

futurescape - I would expect a free consultation on the scanning, file clean up, and printing costs. That's how we operate, at least.

The issue with today's scanning equipment is that, for the most part, you need someone to clean up the scanned image once it's uploaded. That can take a considerable amount of time if you don't want to lose any of the detail in the model.

You can only achieve great results with a high-resolution highly accurate commercial scanner such as the Artec Eva. This ensures the fit and detail level is there. We tried others bit decided to fork out the $$ for the Eva to match-up with the full color powder printing we do. Good luck.

anthony97 - It would be great if I was looking for workers, but now I'm looking for a job and so far I haven't been successful. I graduated from a construction college and I need something related to my specialty.

jack55 - Wait, I will never believe that a constructor, even a beginner, can't find a job. You can contact any construction company and ask if there are vacancies, and I'm sure there will be. Anyway, have a look here https://ca.jooble.org/jobs-construction/Edmonton%2C-AB, I think there will be many good vacancies for you too.

My brother turned to the Mississauga job agency on the https://jobssite.ca/job-agency-mississauga/ website and quickly got a job in his specialty. Now he's building.

denial - I think it's worth looking at resumes, as well as interview results, to understand who is best for you. Now many candidates are using online resume building services like https://www.gotresumebuilder.com/ and I think many documents look good, it is important to find the best candidate in them

lestrbeth - You need to understand what exactly you want from a person, form a portrait of the right employee, pay attention to performance, help the employee understand what you expect from him.
