crushing of tree stumps
Good morning!
Recently, we removed 4 medium-sized cypresses from our territory.

We were not given the opportunity to dig up the stumps, so they were trampled.

The area where the trees once stood is slightly lower than the rest of the territory, and it takes a little topsoil to raise the ground level a little.

Here's my question:
Should I clear the area (it's hot and humid here) of wood chips before adding topsoil, or can I just add topsoil on top of wood chips?

In the fall or next spring, we will plant this area with grass and shrubs.

Thank you for reading this question.

adamhill - Better clean this area. It may be hard, but it's worth it.

alisonin - If you are preparing the site for construction or just doing redevelopment, you can not do without the removal of greenery. Suppose you can handle bushes and other small plants yourself. In that case, the uprooting of stumps and other perennial plants with a trunk diameter of more than 20 centimeters should be entrusted to professionals. It is worth remembering that if you do not uproot trees and stumps in time, the tree begins to rot and decompose in the soil, which will undoubtedly cause the formation of fungi, parasites, and insects. So I would advise you to contact http://www.dougstreeserviceantioch.com/.
