rapidtechnician - This must be a joke and your machine would probably take 2 months to produce a large part......

lennyracer - Not a joke. And would depend on what sized extruder we run. ;) Legit poke though Ill give ya that. :) We designed this large machine in order to be done with hand modeling large items such a s car bodies etc. If I was patient enough to wait a month I wouldnt have designed the machine. ;)

rapidtechnician - I understand your idea and not trying to dissrespect it at all. I kind of look at it like this, why doesn't a real fdm printer have larger size extruders for large partsto speen up the build time on large parts. The problem is the material and warping along with the part looking like a stair case on the side walls. If you want smooth beautiful injection molded looking parts you have to buold in thin layers and fdm or extruded base machines just can't do it due to the material. Resin based machines are the best hands down.......

lennyracer - Coming from the resin side of the industry as well. Not always true. The focus on certain aspects of these machines are overlooked. As far as shrink. Yes in most cases this would be a problem yet when one does this with certain techniques. This factor can then be embraced to ones benifit,. :)
Very familiar with large parts and ABS here thanks. I have performed this on many cases for tier ones. Now were bringing it to the public. We also will show other filament techniques that keep process friendly..
Now I know Im cheating here as I havent disclosed much about myself.. Yet.
All in short due time. But as promised will have a few pics up in a bit. ;)

lennyracer - Hi Guys,
Actually were about ready to launch. I have run a quite a few test pieces and wow. Im finishing up some chain drag covers for the cables. As for that its complete. I generally dont ever post things half finished or incomplete. But have been playing with it making little stuff for a week now..(Trying not to drag the cable around the room...lol.. It cute when the machine is small but when ya have 20 foot of cables jumping around the room its an uneasy feeling in case one should snag something.. Never the less... Ill start with some teasers here in my profile etc before we launch the Erectorbot site etc. The hardest thing is actually figuring out what we want to build first for the demo. I cant help but to think a "Lambo" to make the point. lol :) Are there polls in here as that would be an interesting one? "If you had a 20-foot 3d printer what would you make first?". Ill be posting tommorrow ;) Its time :)

sjh7132 - I'm currently working on a project that could use a 20ft printer. I'm afraid this post is just a joke though. A picture would go a long way to getting my hopes up.

lennyracer - Agreed. These are not our "Final Photos" as were finishing the site erectorbot.com for it now. Theres still some more heat beds coming and drag chain. But IS fully functional and Jaw dropping to watch.
Enjoy...

defcon3d - Interesting.... Where's your 20 ft heated build plate?

lennyracer - These are modular by design. I have a series of 8 footers that fill it up. We also have ceramic heaters that blow down to keep the larger models hot. If someone has a large model and a gaylord of plastic were ready for em. ;)

defcon3d - I thought you manufactured your own plastic there? So a client won't need a gaylord.

lennyracer - Sarcasism, The Erector might be a bot but Im not. ;) One would have to pay for the plastic. Or bring their own. We process filament here however any large print will not be using filament actually, we would run straight pellets to the high volume extruder for anything of large significance. I have posted a dual color test video on youtube and Facebook for you folks.

We have been dealing with injecton mold machines for years. When one calls up to make a run that's the "pun" you got the plastic we got the time.
