I would like to have some Feng Shui advice on my desk orientation.
To start off with, I have my bedroom set up as shown in picture 1, because it follows some basic Feng Shui rules:
- the bed is not in the line of sight of a window and door;
- the door can be seen from the bed;
- no door or window is directly behind the desk;
- the desk is in a power position because the door is in line of sight.
However, for a half a year I've been using the desk less. I felt I was obstructed because I could not move the chair freely behind the desk. I came up with a new desk position, as shown in picture 2.
My concern about the orientation in picture 2 is:
- the desk is not anymore in a power position, because the desk is not facing the door;
- the desk is in line of sight of a window and door;
- I could jump from the desk straight to bed. But according to Feng Shui, the working space and bed should be clearly separated. (I am aware I should not have a desk in the bedroom) Although the desk and bed in picture 1 are close to each other, the spaces are divided into my head. This is because from one space I could not switch easily to the other, and vice versa. In picture 2, this is not the case anymore.
Should I stick with orientation in picture 1 or try picture 2? Or is there another optimal solution?
Any suggestions about the desk orientation or any Feng Shui tips are welcome. I thank you in advance for your time.
