nyl0cke - Its only a 4 axis board, and from what I've seen with E3d's Kracken hot end (4 individually controlled heater blocks for 4 filaments) and a lot of other things, this seems out dated. There are a lot of people wanting more extruders on their FDM machines, and the way I see it, no matter how pretty this board is, its already outdated by the RAMBo and nearly any other electronics board for a RepRap kind of machine, which all support 2 or more extruders.

jcollins1 - You can add the printrboard build out to this one to allow for more extruders and im sure they will come out with one on there own, I just thought it was nice to see someone is doing cases for these now and it is much cheaper by at least $30.

nyl0cke - check out the azteeg x3 board, 2 extruders, runs off of pololu drivers (easily replaced if you burn them out), professional look to it, its a pretty nice board with a lot of functionality. I'm honestly not seeing what is so special about this new set of electronics, just seems like white noise, since lately the buzz in boards is the move to ARM controllers, more resources, faster clock speed, dedicated fancy math coprocessors, great for delta printers like the Rostock, Kossel, things like that, also more power for more extruders and complicated mechanisms. The Xcaliboard looks pretty, ill give you that, not a lot of pretty boards in the RepRap world, but it doesn't seem like its that innovative...

mnutsch - Looks like the Kickstarter project is on hold. This message comes up when you click on the link: "The Xcaliboard A 3D printing control board is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable."
