Any advice on getting some revenue using my bot?

elpulpo - Hey Daniel, Judging by your profile, you seem to be doing pretty well. Loving the beer sign BTW and Newcastle Brown Ale on draught?! You're a lucky man! :-)

A couple of suggestions: Utilise other methods of drumming up business. While MakeXYZ is a great way to get regular custom and charge people without fuss, there are many ways to direct people toward your presence here. The more you use, the more jobs you'll get. You won't be able to expect every enquiry to turn into business. In fact, you'll probably have to work on a hit rate closer to 1 in 5 early on. It's a matter of getting a nose for tyre-kickers and understanding that many prospects often don't have a great understanding of what's entailed in 3D printing and will require a deal of hand-holding.

Good luck with your new enterprise!

vinnie90 - It's pretty tough. I just started to get more work on here and hubs. Be prepared to discuss 3d printing very quick and easy. Most of my customers know nothing of printing and I have to explain every step. Then when it comes to cost they disappear. Stick in there and make it happen

augustaht - A few tips:

Respond to inquiries as fast as possible. I find that I have the best shot at getting a job if I respond within the first hour.

Give the right amount of information/explanation; be clear, but I also lost a bunch of customers by going wayy too deep into the 3D printing weeds. Most customers just want the part, not a lecture on 3D printing.

nyl0cke - If a week or more passes by without a reply, and it is clear that they needed help, I generally send a simple message asking them if they still need my services and asking if they got help. So far its ended up with them saying "I'm going a different route with this project" or something along those lines, but even if it ends with that at least it ends with some sort closure and you doing the right thing, instead of you sitting there wondering whats going on on their end.
