I am working on a framework for a "model factory"; building analytical base tables, extracting data for building analytical models, testing models compared to previous iterations, storing score codes, and scoring new data. The different parts all work ok, but the framework is based on things such as updating an excel file (where you can select which models to build, criteria for who to include in the model, etc), and then updating a database version of the relevant columns. Not exactly bullet proof. I would like to start mocking up a more GUI oriented version of this system, where a web app like interface is used to update the databases, and where you can generate a dataset by point and click instead for running a bunch of code manually. The code is mostly written in SAS, where there are options such as stored processes etc to allow for GUI elements. But I would love to have suggestions on frameworks\code languages that allow for easy POC mock ups. The web app will be running on windows desktop, no need for mobile support. Performace\load time should also not be an issue. There will only be a handfull of internal users, so no flashy sexy stuff required. I want something with good and easy to find community support (on say stackoverflow). I have done som basic programming in different languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, R , SAS) and don't have a love or hate for one or the other, but if I can use JetBrains Pycharm I have a headstart on getting the software up an running.
