New Colors Available for Form1 Printers
Hello All,

I noticed that a large portion of the resin printers available on makexyz are Form1 printers. Most owners offer clear printing, while a few offer grey as well. I want to let everyone know that there are now four additional options which launched on IndieGoGo this morning.

Those are: Black, White, Blue, and Pink.

The resin is currently selling for only $75/Liter, though the price will increase to $100/L after the first 100 backers pledge.

For more information, you can visit the IndieGoGo campaign at: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/high-quality-3d-printer-resin/x/5019047

Or, reach out to brian@madesolid.com with any questions.

These new materials have been an awesome addition to our arsenal, and I hope that you and your customers find them useful as well.

dennish - I am printing with a B9 Creator. It uses Red resin. The colors are just pigments in the resin but simply adding them can affect the cure rates with the B9 and Im not sure about the Form1 but my guess is different colors may change the process enough to affect prints...
Watching the slew of resins hit the market after the B9's arrival as the FIRST consumer resin printer...Theres a giant industry starting up around the photopolymers....I do hope we find some safer solutions to this rather nasty...Liquified plastic...(just think what pouring it down drains can do to water!)

bmart - Hey Dennish,

You're absolutely right about all of that. Changing the color does affect the cure rates. The difference with the B9 is that you can tweak the settings of your printer to comply with a new material. You can't tweak the settings of the Form1 printer, so you are locked into their materials, unless your chemistry is strong enough. Each of the MadeSolid colors is a slightly different formula to comply with the unadjustable power and speed on a certain Form1 setting.

We have a B9 Creator as well, and we use it quite often, especially when we are looking for a more speedy print. The slide can be quite violent at times though.

Resin can be a bit messy at times, which is why "ease of cleanup" was a big problem we wanted to address. And no, we shouldn't be pouring down the drain. We have something that addresses this actually.
