PLA printing temps
So my printer is designed for ABS printing only but it prints at temps between 210 - 215 Celsius. Would this temp range work for PLA printing?

Also does anyone know if the Acetone vapor bath will have the same effect on PLA?

chadm - I print PLA at 215c, different printers work better at different temperatures, but those temperatures are in the range.

vinnie90 - usually ABS prints better at 230C. Interesting that yours "only prints at those temps".

I like to print PLA at 220C. Like @Chadm said every printer does different. I actually put a laser temperature reader and my makerbots were off. I would see if you could get your hands on one just to see what it is actually heating and can fix your setting from there.

and no about the Acetone and PLA. It does not smooth it out, it sometimes turns the plastic white.

bendbrad - Acetone will knock the gloss off, but won't smooth out the lines
