Ridge Nylon - Rigid and Machinable
Hello,

We are working on trying to produce a new nylon that is rigid and machinable.

You can learn more here. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:348033

It appears pricing will be between 100-115 per kg. We will have to buy commercial size spools and spool them down to 1kg size spools.

I wanted to get some thoughts from you guys on weather or not its worth pursuing.

Thank you
Colter

mhagan - Very interesting, but at $110-115 per Kg you are probably priced much to high for almost every one. If you can get it down to $50 and hold good tolerances on filament diameter, then you might have a market.

diecast_dirtboy - mhagan, I wish I could get the price down to 50 dollars, unfortunately, whole sale is higher than that. Tolerances is very good, as a beta tester reported 1.78 - 1.80mm.

boxbluff_1, I'm sending a few samples out tomorrow, so if you could send me an address, I would be more than happy to send a sample.

Thanks

elpulpo - Hey Colter,

It's an interesting idea. I can't help but agree with mhagan about the price but, I guess it'll depend what new opportunities the material will open up for us. I've sent you my address in case you can spare another sample. :-D

Cheers!
