I have an urgent question. I just recently moved from the Netherlands to Australia, and my goods were delivered through this checkpoint. The items were collected in mid-May, arrived in Sydney on September 2 and are now already in Melbourne, where I live.
however! The moving company declared insolvency on October 13, and the Australian company moved my things from Sydney to Melbourne, informed us that there was a delay in delivery, and now will not give us our things if we do not pay them for moving from Sydney, because they claim that they were not paid for moving.
My question is, if we have already paid everything, and they went bankrupt just a week ago, therefore, on the day when another moving company was supposed to deliver our things, is it legal that they are asking us to pay them now? So what should we do now?
The move contacted the company in Sydney, but not us. Other customers have received a direct email from them, which makes me think that they would also have sent us an email if the payment for our shipment had not been paid.
