I'm considering an angle selling custom skins for makerbots, ultimakers, etc.

With a few vinyl skins, you could turn your makerbot pink, white, leopard, glow in the dark(?!)

How cool would that be? Would any of you guys/girls be interested?

tjones - sorry, don't have any photos, as i haven't made any yet. if we go the vinyl route i was just going to just get a run from a decal company nearby. but if someone has a cnc, this could be a fun makexyz project.

tjones - i'd price them a few bucks over cost for now... might try and get a vinyl run this week. anyone have a cnc we can test this with? we could compare vinyl skin vs something cnc'd to see which is better.

makerbeck - Nice idea, but I would have to say I am not interested. I can see situations where it would be a nice attention getter, though.

makerbeck - diecast dirtboy, nice panels. Have you thought of doing any panels that extend further than the stock Replicator 2 panels to more completely cover the black? Also would it be possible to mix colors?

diecast_dirtboy - I actually haven't thought about it matter of fact. Mixing colors won't be a problem. I plan on launching these on Kickstarter. Thanks for the feedback.

fabhappy - I would probably go crazy tring to apply skins to my Replicator 2. :) It's not easy to apply vinyls to odd-shaped pieces (at least not for me).
