NOTE: On Aug 30, 2013 I updated the file. I extended the end just a bit. I found it a bit tight on more recent Octave reels, so I gave it just a bit more room. A hybrid spool holder that will accommodate THREE different spool types. This now accommodates the wide Octave spools, the Afinia Premium black plastic spools and the Afinia Value Line cardboard spools without swapping out the holder. This is designed to work with Octave's Universal Spindle Adapter, found on Octave's site. Please feel free to suggest alterations if it doesn't work perfectly. This version now has a slightly stronger buttress in order to handle the slightly thinner holder where the Afinia Value Line reel sits. Each reel slides down into its own gravity well, and stays there adequately. I hope you like it.I downloaded and printed the Octave Universal Spindle Adapter kit including the Afinia and Octave spool holders. I used those as test items, then made some measurements and modeled (from scratch) a new holder that would accommodate both reels, rather than having to swap them out. It works by pushing the wider Octave spools closer to the base, keeping it off the indentation. And for the narrower spools, you let it slip into the indentation which holds it rather well.
