The Aleph Objects bed mount system is a bed mount mod for the Prusa Mendel.The Aluminium Bed Mount Plate design is an aluminium plate with pre-drilled and tapped holes to mount boltable PLA bushings, the Prusajr PCB heated print bed, belt clamps, and Y-axis opto flag. This mount plate is designed to fit onto a Reprap Prusa Mendel 3D printer.This bed mount design requires the y-axis bar clamps to be turned upside down. It would be thought that Z-axis distance would be lost; however, because there is no needed wooden plate, this design actually gives a tiny bit more z-axis clearance.It is also recommended you use the belt stand-offs (belt_standoff.stl) to make the y-axis belt line horizontal. For now here are some quick text directions.If you're upgrading from the normal Prusa Mendel bed plate, start by removing your current bed setup.Loosen the nuts on the four y-axis bar clamps. Also, loosen the nuts on the y-axis idle bearing and y-axis motor mount.Mount the bolt-able bushings and belt stand-offs/belt clamps to the Aluminum plate.5.Slide the two smooth rods through the boltable bushings (test for smooth movement). Slide the smooth rods back into the y-axis bar clamps (make sure the bar clamps have the smooth rod holes on top). It is best to have the bushings and plate already on the smooth rods rather than snapping the bushings on. You will turn into the HULK! if you break a bushing.Eye up your bed to be centered between the vertical frame threaded rods. Using a ruler or calipers line up one side of the bed to be square with the frame. Tighten the y-axis bar clamps on the smooth rod on that side. By hand, run the bed back and forth a few times to align the smooth rod on the opposite side. When the bed is running smooth on the rods, tighten the other two y-axis bar clamps.Adjust your y-axis bearing idler and y-axis motor mount to line up with the belt clamps. Once you have the idler and motor mount aligned tighten the nuts down.Install the y-axis belt.
