TL;DR - A Pan / Tilt servo mount for the Multiplex EasyStar foamy.http://www.mpx-easystar.de/index.php?id=2&L=1The EasyStar is a great plane for First Person video flying, it's..So here's a basic Pan/Tilt servo mount to velcro your camera of choice onto. I've sized the mounting cutouts for the cheap and incredibly common "Mystery" 9g transparent blue servos, and they work well. These are sold commercially for about $50, and my version costs me about .20c in MDF to cut.. This 'thing' is intended to be cut out of ordinary 3mm MDF fibreboard, 3mm balsa is also a possibility, even acrylic if you feel fancy. notches will need to be resized for thicker materials. The file is a more recent (improved) version than the built one in the photo's, but will assemble the same, and weigh a little less.First, fire the laser. :)Press-fit the side supports into the cockpit base, press the cockpit rear and cockpit front into place, and sit the assembly into the cockpit cavity on your EasyStar. I then place dots of CA glue onto the joins while pushing the assembly down to get the angles perfect, and spray it with CA kicker to set the base. As EasyStar's are a little variable in their manufacture, this makes sure everything fits.Mount the pan servo in the cockpit base from underneath (screws and servo body inside the plane). push fit a full-circle servo horn into the tilt base, and use some M2 sized screws to attach the horn to the base (CA glue will also work). Push the tilt sides into the pan base as shown. Mount the servo horn onto the pan servo using the provided screw, and make sure the assembly so far pans correctly. The tilt sides have "legs" that extend down to help support the tilt head, and I rub soap onto the bottoms of these legs to reduce friction. Oil doesn't work (it just swells the MDF).Install the tilt servo as shown, and put on a 2 bar horn. push on the pan top and glue the assembly so far.I use M3 x 6mm screws as "axles" for the camera platform, just using CA glue to fix them in place while holding it in position, it seems to work well.Add some stiff wire as a pushrod from the tilt servo horn to the camera platform horn and test it. Add a velcro dot the the camera platform and attach your camera. Should work like a bought one. :)
