In teaching myself Grasshopper for Rhino 3D I decided to use this Delta vase by the amazing Dutch designer Mart van Schijndel as a model because I liked its deceptively simple geometry and was curious what an algorithm for this shape would do with more sides and different dimensions. The original is only made of three planes of glass, so printing it in 3d sort of loses the simplicity! Here is a link to the original: http://www.martvanschijndel.nl/en/product-design/project/56/delta-vaas-1981 I have also included two other outputs from the algorithm - a six sided shotglass size thing and a seventeen sided tall vase thing.I have included the Rhino 3D file and the Grasshopper script. In Grasshopper I defined the algorithm in two ways. Plug point D into either #1 or #2. There are sliders for height, width and number of sides.
