My next wargaming piece is the body of a coil pistol. Intended to stand in for a plasma pistol from the Warhammer 40K universe, scaled to 54mm Inquisitor scale. There is intentionally no grip, as this is intended to be sculpted and glued to a model's existing fist. This was designed from scratch in Tinkercad, and printed on my Replicator 2. You'll notice a large degree of separation between the rings in the "coil" in the model as the first one I printed, the rings all oozed together into a solid section. I printed this muzzle-down without a raft or support, at 0.1 mm layer height, so gravity and my probably-too-high extrusion temperature took care of the separation in the coil.Printed muzzle-down, without a raft or support, at 0.1 mm layer height. This one was printed in PLA plastic at 230 C extrusion temperature.
