These items are designed for use in a 1:24 scale (1/2-inch = 1-foot) architectural model. These objects are custom modeled directly from the objects in my personal home, which I designed and built myself. However, they are common household appliances and construction components that can be used in just about any design.More architectural objects will follow. Download the PDF for brief instructions on how to build your own 1:24 scale home model, and to see what other objects I plan to design for my model home. The actual photos of my home are for model relation purposes. My 3D model of my home is accurate to within 1/64" in most areas.2-7-2012: Uploaded a few more progress pictures of the project. I took photos of my TV screen, pellet stove window, and the "bricks" in my engraved concrete entryway, and printed them out on photo paper (to scale), cut them out, and glued them in the appropriate places. Looks great! :)Download the PDF file for very basic instructions on how to build your own 3D home model.Download the residential model files that you wish to use.Print them.Use your imagination, your patience, and any other skills you have. Refer to the Internet for basic construction techniques and geometry calculations, if you must. Last resort... ask me and I'll help. :)Have fun... that's the entire point.DESCRIPTIONS OF FILES:1) Shower base: This is a fairly common 60" shower base, but I added 1 wall of my shower to fit my custom Master Bath arrangement. Cut it off in 3D or after printing, if you don't need it. This prints great!2) Toilet: A pretty standard toilet. I printed 3 of them using MULTIPLY, and everything worked great until it got to the tank. The base of this toilet is pretty small, and the tank hangs off the back of the base. I printed it with a raft and 10mm/sec speed, but the toilets still toppled over when they got to the tanks. Experiment... it's healthy.3) Tub/shower unit: A standard 60" tub/shower unit with grab bar and soap dish. It prints great!4) Pellet stove: Probably not a popular thing, but I included it anyhow. It prints great, and is a popular supplimentary heating device in my neck of the woods. :)5) Oven/microwave: I designed these 2 items together, since they are commonly used together. Pretty basic print, and turns out well.6) Refrigerator: This is a pretty standard side-by-side refrigerator/freezer unit with a recessed water/ice receptacle and seperate handles that you can glue on later or throw away with the raft. For faux stainless steel (as with the other appliances, use aluminum HVAC duct tape and carefully cut around the handles and the ice/water receptacle).7) Sound system: A pretty basic model of my sound equipment. A 400-disc CD changer at bottom, then a 600-watt digital THX-certified surround-sound/stereo receiver, then a satellite receiver, then a Blu-ray player. Don't plug it in after you print it. It won't save you $6,000 and you may end up in the hospital. :) 8) TV: A common 42" flat-screen TV, with a mount printed seperately. There are grooves on the back of the TV for mount alignment, and an arrow that should point up in relation to the TV, to make the TV angle down just a bit. (The angled facet on the face of the TV is the bottom.)More files to come, as I have time. I can also take requests, and will do my best to fulfill. I have libraries of various building components that I've designed on CAD, and can print just about anything I need to. I also have several CD-ROMs of Kohler, Anderson, Pella, and many other construction-related files, which I'm sure I can convert to STL for your use. Just let me know what you need. But PLEASE give me a long lead time. I'm a busy, busy, busy bee. ;)
