UPDATE: made it into a ducted air system for my printing booth....added the TALL ducted bit....see pics...... Temp controlled ambient air. Negative air pressure system. (fan and filter in top of box) Temp controlled ducted air for main board. Carbon and dust filters. LED lighting 12 position temp control over nozzle temp Kustom boltless filament roller w sealed bearings Kustom box w door coming / not installed yet: LED fan on main board air intake, show temp in colour. warm side heating for temp controlled ambient air. (more a winter thing) webcam for remote monitoring. notes: filament roller off the unit so to stop unit shaking the filament loose on the roll. neg pressure system so the carbon filters work in the correct direction and kills the ABS smell, and air intake comes from outside, thru the units main board or from below air intakes near floor, both intakes thru dust filters. Was hot as hell in my printer shed the other day, touched the top of my printer case and it was very hot, ambient temp was 40deg C, but I kinda needed to keep printing....not so worried about the steppers as they are cheap, but thought, gee, would hate to cook my main board, as thats the only thing I can't fix myself.... Anyway cobbled this together from bits I had lying around, 60mm fan and STC-1000 temp relay, and printed out the 60mm fan mount You see bolt on fan mount with front fan grill, and left hand side intake grill, that takes a thin sheet of dust filter, yep, fan pulls out air, that is passed thru the dust filter. this first test setup uses a STC-1000 temp controlled relay, that runs the LED light strips (more on that later) and the 'switch' power for the fan...all it does is help the heatsinks when your ambient temp is up...piece of mind for a hot day really, we get a few of them here in Australia...;) OK, just ordered bits to make a micro controlled, PWM / RPM over temp controlled unit and a LED fan that I will mod to RGB, for temp feedback...so green to red, dependant of temp...while I am there I might as well add a timer that hits the reset (to drop table) and then the main power, via relays...for auto off, when print is done.... what thinking of adding a resistor selector unit (I have 12 way temp switcher fitted) for auto temp changes with pre-programed settings for different filaments, selected via little LCD screen, I don't write any temps down as I am sometimes lazy...but not sure it that is a overkill...;) Enjoy KtronikGlue Fan plate to the fan mount, making sure it level to ground. FIt the two plates fan mount on RH side and dust filter grill on LH side. Install fan, and wire electronics, you don{t really need the temp controlled relay, you can just hook a 60mm fan up to 12v and let it go, simple dimple...K
