An IR remote control reflector for vertically mounted Apple TV's. Works great with the Apple TV wall mount thing. One of the first things I printed for my Apple TV was the 100mm VESA wall mount http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14598 - I then screwed this into the wall, and it worked okay for the most part, but I found myself lying in bed, aiming the remote all over trying to get a good control signal. I decided to try making a reflector to rest on top - I wanted it simple and light - something I could fasten easily with a little lightweight double-sided tape. I then designed this in Google Sketchup and exported it to STL using one of the plugins. I figured that in the worst case, I'd want to print the primary reflecting surface facing down somehow, but then figured that I could just stick on some tinfoil to be the reflector - turns out the clear stuff reflects IR brilliantly, and no reflective surface was needed. I printed this on my RepRap (LM8UU) with a .5 Budhaschnozzle 1.1 using 3mm clear PLA with a fan @ 235C. Sliced it with Slic3r on my Mac using .25mm slices and printed it on a 60C bed covered with Kapton tape. Had to clean up the edges at the top at the end of printing, but otherwise it was perfect - small details at that temp are tough, but it worked out well enough for me.
