This setup is currently printing at 20 micron layers ;p This is Mk2 redesigned Ultimaker extruder. It employs a MakerBot Mk6 drive gear over the 2nd gen bolt from Ultimaker.NEW Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVYZFMKugZUhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9pbe6IZs0Y http://youtu.be/U3Rnok5LT00 & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgwDqOj5i4E&feature=youtube_gdata_playerNow works with Bowden Clamp www.thingiverse.com/thing:17027Please note: M92 X78.74 Y78.74 E610This design uses a Makerbot Mk6 drive gear. The two bearings that sit next to the Mk6 drive gear are 106 model. The drive shaft is 6mm dia brass shaft and can be substituted with an M6 x 28-30mm SHCS. Print parts and compare length required hardware. Fit drive gear and tighten grub screw to mark sharft for filing a flat to allow the grub screw to finish flush with the outside of the drive gear.Filament compression bearing is 688RS recycled from UM. Thread the hole with an M6 tap.#############It occurred to me in my sleep last night that material differences and infill variations might create different beam flex issues compared to my prints. So to help with finding the best tension for everyone I have made a "TENSION BLOCK" that can be inserted in front of the spring to work out how much extra tension maybe required. then add washers under the springs to balance the difference. see photo below. In fact dont even purchase the spring! and give the T-Block a go?#############The filament compression handle is located with an M6x15 SHCS and fastened into a brass M6 threaded insert & has allowance for a Century Spring Corp - CSC spring OD10.53 (0.415") Length 29.5 (1.162") Wire Dia 1.46 (0.57") from a Assortment pack. Available from the big green shed in Australia. All additional new hardware was purchased from http://www.smallparts.com.au/ http://www.hobbyparts.com.auNOTE: "Part 10A and C Combo Mk2" requires support for optimised printing. Parts sliced in Slic3r 0.2mm layers with 0.3 fill density, 6 solid layers and 3-4 perimeters. The gear needs to be solid at the nut interface or it will rotate in the plastic gear and extrusion will stop ;(NOTE: The white bowden tube clamp- wrap with one layer of electrical tape around the thread and clamp it in place at the top or use the "V2 Bowden clamp cap" to mechanically fasten parts in place with out the tape.
