Here's one of my makerbot goals for 20XX, a space shuttle! Based on lofting a 3-view, there is some loss of fidelity. Thanks to @matthew_laberge for the red ABS which makes it look AWESOME.There are many parts I'd like to improve, but I remember hearing that creations are never finished, they escape.So this model takes advantage of "tall" prints on the makerbot. It's approx. 125mm in the stl which my machine prints very well. I created some shims that print beneath the wings in order support them. By coincidence, warping under the wings actually helps the wings print better.Printed in ABS using 10% fill. My wife produced the .gcode using skeinfox. The defaults printed a nice surface (after some tweaks).
