I added a couple of bits of rubber/foam to the jaws to increase the grip, these are the things you put on the bottom of furniture to prevent scratches on the floor. If you have an M8 tap you can tap the M8 bolt part but it will probably work ok without. Self tap the base onto your tripod, I found mine was quite secure but If you have a suitable nut you could melt that into the base. Place phone on lower jaw and compress and tighten the top jaw.
