I had a 1" spring that I cut in half and it works great.The motor runs just a bit hotter than I like but you can touch it without getting burned at printing speeds of 30, 60, and 65 it skipped steps above that while pulling on a 2kg reel of filament so I run it at 60 for now.If you re-render from Source you will need to fix the .stl with netfabb before you skein and print it.
