This is alga42's classy and functional 58mm espresso tamper, but resized to fit my Starbucks Barista espresso machine (53mm), and squished a bit shorter (about 48mm high) because I find this shape a bit easier to palm. I printed mine over a year ago, and it's held up really nicely. I used 3 perimeters, 3 top/bottom layers, and 15% infill. I printed in ABS. I smoothed the ABS using an acetone vapor bath. (Let it dry for a long time -- like days.) You can scale this to fit a different diameter filter. Calculate the scaling factor by dividing the size you want by 53. For example, to print a 58mm diameter tamper, you can use 1.09 as a scaling factor (1.09 is 58 divided by 53).
