After i printed a lot improvement part for my Ultimaker and raised it's accuracy to a satisfying level i'm really happy with it now. Anyhow i got bugged by this noisy fan on the bottom side of the Ultimaker. You just need to switch the printer on and this fan starts screaming at you.Because of this i started to work on a replacement. The first version was designed to replace just the fan and this plastic piece but keep the wooden parts. After some tries i released that i will need to bump up my Ultimaker anyhow if i want to remove this radial fan.At this point i got back to my scratchboard and designed a complete new v2 version that i'm publishing here now. This version replace the complete cover that is mounted on the electronics board. It guides the air to all important parts and has some open spots to let the hot air out. Also there are some predetermined breaking point that can be used to customize this cover ( for example if you use a Ulticontroller or more stepper controllers)This cover already fits very tight but to be sure everything stays in place i added some "locks" that can be mounted on the cover itself to prevent any movement of it. They are just snapped on the bigger holes for the screws. On important thing on the end: you will need to use my derivative of Gijs great Ultimaker feets. They will reduce the vibration, noise and bump up your Ultimaker by around 2 cm.Happy and silent printing!print out the cover ( i used the default high quality filled object profile of netfabb )print out one or two locks if needed / wishedprint out the feets (2x normal 2x mirroed) and 4 toes (Gijs Ultimaker Feets : http://www.thingiverse.com/download:77644) mount a 50x50mm fan on the cover (i used some decoubling mounts and a scythe fan, you can get both for example at amazon ( http://www.amazon.de/Scythe-Mini-L%C3%BCfter-4500rpm-50x50x10/dp/B00261ABFK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1344939000&sr=8-3 ) this fan has already the right 2 pol connector to connect it to the controller boardmount the cover on your electronics like the original one
