I was running out of room on my desk, and couldn't fit my keyboard under my monitor stand. I could have purchased one that worked better, but hey, I have a 3D printer. So, I designed this monitor stand so you can make one that fits you needs.I've included a set of STL files that you can print as is, or you can use the OpenSCAD files to customize the design to meet your needs. The design used 3/4 inch square aluminum tube I purchased from my local home improvement store. You could use steel instead if you want. For my stand, I cut two pieces that were 2 feet long each. I cut these from a single 6-foot piece I purchased using a hacksaw. You should be able to print the four supports (Vertical_Support.stl). These allow about 65mm of vertical clearance for your keyboard, and should push onto the ends of the square tube. The horizontal supports (Horizontal_Support.stl) is rather large, at 250 mm along it's longest dimension. If your print bed is smaller than that, try rotating it so it prints diagonally on your printer. If you want to use different sized parts, use the OpenSCAD files. The Horizontal_Support.scad file creates the platforms that hold the monitor. The Width controls the front-to-back flat dimension on these parts. Height is how wide these supports will be. And Thickness is the thickness of the flat areas between the front and back. Finally, tubeWidth is the size of the square tube, so you can change the parts to work with tubes of a different size. The posts are customized using Post.scad, and only has two values. You use tubeWidth to set the size of the square tube. And use clearance to set the height of the opening. I used 65mm for this as I have a rather tall keyboard.
