I was never quite happy with the belt clamp on my MakerGear Prusa so I decided to make some improvements. I always thought it odd that the belt clamps are supposed to flatten the teeth on the belt in order for the clamp to work properly. I also wished that there's a better way to tighten the belt. With these two design objectives in mind, I made this Yet Another Belt Tensioner. The design is similar to others but my design accommodates a MakerGear Prusa with 0.200" pitch XL belts.I used 2x M3x25 screws to screw this belt tensioner onto the stock MakerGear clamp base. I also used 1x M3x30 screw for the tensioner part of the clamp. You will also need a M3 nut for the tensioner screw. The nut will be very snug so you may need to tap it into position.
