A small windmill / anemometer I have been designing. Chose between a scoopwheel design or a spoon design. I've added the four part scoop design for shorter and multiple printer times or smaller printer sizes. Extra parts needed: One 608 bearing One M8 x 35 bolt First chose between the scoop wheel or the spoon design. If you chose the scoop then do not print the hub or the arms. If you chose the spoon design you'll need three arms. Print it, I printed it with a 0.5mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.25mm in ABS. The axle is a bit of a pain to print due to the height and being small. Print 2 or 3 at once with a large space between them or print together with something else that is as high If you use a default bearing like being used in a lot of 3d printers you need to do some work on it. First remove both seals from the bearing and soak the bearing in gasoline, diesel or anything else that will dissolve the grease. I also used compressed air to clean out the bearing until it runs extremely smooth. When I spin it up with my finger it can run up to 8 seconds. It might mean it will rust but only if water gets in. :) (also the early prototypes I made with uncleaned bearing also rusted) Drill out all the hole that need drilled but do not drill out the axle. The axle needs thread in it. Either make it by using a tap or by heating the bolt and drive it in. Second the bolt, you'll need to heat it up and pull it into the hoed/hat. This will make it watertight. The arms and the top of the mounting centre will need a little sanding to fit. If done correctly no glue or acetone needed. Screw the mounting centre to a fencepost or anything else that you want to. Assemble the rest of the parts on the table en complete the build by pressing the assembly onto the mounting centre. Have fun.
