This won't fit in the older drop pod model, sorry. They'll fit my updated drop pod: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:446893. This is pretty much the last thing I need, so I can organize my collection thing for the drop pod. Tagged "in progress" merely because I don't have photos yet. Check out the instructions. Support my things in a strange way. I spent forever on this 3D model. I got into 3D printing because of my Lego R2-D2, so if you like this and want to support this and future projects, please check out L3-G0 at http://L3-G0.com or http://youtube.com/myL3G0. Every visitor, tweet or post about L3-G0 helps, thanks! These are intended for my drop pod, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:446893. To make a full set (you don't have to), you'll need 5 pairs. The STL files include pairs, which need glued together back-to-back. The little notch fits over the control column and the other end fits the inside of the fin. The bottom barely touches the curved part of the fin too. Printing: I printed them on high (1mm) in sets of 12 (6 pairs) in ABS. The eagle symbol is almost visible at that resolution. Variations: Umbilical: There are two versions with 1 or 2 "umbilical" slots. The idea is that you can plug a spare bit of filament into the hole and then glue that to the fin. Maybe only do that for 1 or 2 harnesses per pod. You could also just print them all that way and leave the holes empty as an extra greeble. Singles: If you want to take out some harnesses, like maybe to see the control pillar more easily, I included some supports for the back that don't have the harness part. There are two variations as I couldn't make up my mind. General I've repaired the STL files and they seem to print OK, but there's something wrong with the SketchUp file, sorry. It doesn't seem to like really small stuff, so it was hard to edit. I started making it 10x bigger and then .1x smaller before saving. I probably should've just left it huge and told folks to scale when printing or something. Support my things in a strange way. I spent forever on this 3D model.
