A game of Monopoly has always been a big adventure. Now it's even bigger. This oversized alternative game board was built using FlexMesh. Some additional FlexMesh shapes were added in so that the middle of the board can be rotated 45°. This design also includes specially designed houses and hotel pieces with pegs that hold them in place. I can't wait to see the awesome player tokens that you design. Game on! The board shown here was printed in ABS over the course of a couple of weeks using a few FlashForge printers running pretty much full tilt. An estimated 4kg of filament went into the print process, assuming a job success rate of 80%. (Your milage may vary.) This game board consists of about 3,750 FlexMesh pieces (including houses & hotels) that measure out to about 875mm (~3 feet) to a side. But the diagonal center portion accounts for about 60% of those pieces. So the main area of play, together with houses and hotels can be constructed by snapping together about 1500 pieces of various colors. I'd estimate the total print time would be about 400 build hours, with about 225 of those being spent on the optional inner board. Note: In order to build this Thing you'll also need those shapes included in the FlexMesh and Dice designs. So make sure that you also download them.
