I made prototypes out of paper, but the model in the picture is cardboard, much stronger and more rigid.I cut out the faces(a face is one triangle so in the pictures that show a blueprint there are 5 faces already connected; the longer spikes is made of isosceles triangles), taped them together, and then painted it. You will need 12 of the larger "spikes" and 12 smaller "spikes". If you were to print out the pictures of triangles I've attached, they would form a model that measures about 14" across from point to point. If you use cardboard you need to cut out individual faces because cardboard is thick enough that you can't fold the 5 triangles into a "spike". And I found that its easiest to tape them together if you make 12 larger spikes that each have 10 small faces taped to them. That way you can connect the small faces to each other and the larger spikes are already attached. That's hard to describe, but look at the photo of me making a model. You can see a stack of spikes that have the faces of other spikes already taped to them. And to the right of the stack is a single face with 2 of the smaller triangular faces taped to it. That picture basically shows the steps. On the right is step 1: a large face with 2 smaller faces attached. In the middle is step 2: 5 step "1"s taped together to make a spike. And then on the left step 3.
