So, Zoom makes this: (https://www.zoom-na.com/products/field-video-recording/field-recording/zoom-iq5-professional-stereo-microphone-ios) nifty add-on mic for your iPhone 5 and up, BUT it doesn't ship with a protective case of any kind. The Zoom iQ5 isn't an accessory that you leave plugged into your phone all of the time because it's both bulky and fragile. Most of the time, you'll want to throw it in your gear bag, and not worry about it. That's where this clamshell case comes in. I designed the case to be sturdy enough to rattle around in the bottom of my gig bag, but when I need the iQ5, I can find it and and pop open the case quickly. The latching tab holds the clamshell shut nicely, without being to hard to open. The texture of the string-printed parts actually helps the latching feature.There are only two parts to print. You'll also need two #4 screws. I used pan heads. Minimum length is .375" but .5" is probably better, .75" will fit. You should expect to drill out the holes for the screws to clean them up, otherwise you might split open your printed parts with the screws. I'm going to add a few pads of self-stick felt into inside of the case to cradle the iQ5 a bit more firmly, but as it prints, its still a decent fit.
