Go Hawks! ====== I had the Seahawks Logo from my other project, so I merely added a hole so it could be a keychain. You'll have to add your own ring. I thought about making a tab for the ring, but decided it would work better in the middle of the beak. Like the hawk is holding your keys for you.Go Hawks!!!! ===== Not sure how well it'll last as a keychain, but I guess I can always print another. To get my "layers" effect, I printed using Makerware at .2mm layer heights. The only layer that aligns with an even mm value is the green layer, so you can set a z-pause for that one but the rest need to be paused by hand or use other software or something. Be careful to use temperatures appropriate for all of your filaments! I found that some of my colors wanted to be hotter than others, so I picked the hottest temperature, which worked well enough. I included several sizes. The biggest is probably too big for earrings. The smallest is too small for me to print well. To print the colors: Note that the first color change is one layer above 002mm, so you can set pause to 002mm and then resume and only have to babysit one layer. I thought about even mm for the colors, but that's just too much depth. It needs two layers per color to look good (they bleed through some). I also included a little ruler/fence that has the same colors on it. If you put that on the edges of your print, you may get the printer head to be over that when you change colors, which makes it easier to find the layers and easier to print them. Also look at the preview for printing to get hints for what's going to be printed on the previous layer. Fortunately, the interesting stuff is currently printed last on those layers, so if you miss a little for the switch, that's OK (except green). Go Hawks!!! Of course the Logo belongs to the Seattle Seahawks, so if they ask me to, I'll take this down. Whatever part of this thing is mine is under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial license. There's a sketchup file of my effort if you want to muck with bits. The STL files are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of that file, except with the same height (so the color layers all change the same so you can print several sizes at once). The layers are also the same as my coaster and earrings. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:642218 for the coaster http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:657314 for the keychain http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:657317 for the earrings
