This is a parameterized Solidworks 2014 file for a parts bin organizer. This can be made from cardboard, matte board or many other materials. Enter your desired length, width, height, and material thickness and you can create a custom DXF file for a laser cutter. DXF files for 3 sizes of cardboard boxes are shown. Update 3/23/2015: updated the SolidWorks file (SolidWorks 2015 SP0) and added a zip version of the file. In the SolidWorks file, enter your length, width, and height into the equation editor variables. Enter the material thickness into the base flange properties. Then just flatten the part and create a DXF for your laser cutter. One laser cutter shop in my area has a 18x32" size limit. This will fit boxes: 7"(L) x 5"(W) x 3.5"(H), 6.5"(L) x 5"(W) x 5"(H), and 9.25"(L) x 8.5"(W) x 3.5"(H) for example Minimum width is 2.25" (no error checking is done) Minimum depth is 4" The parts and DXF files include small dots that mark the fold lines. I cut the parts with the cardboard corrugation running vertical on the box sides. Folding the back tab into the small slot is tricky so be sure to fold the box as close as possible to the right lines.
