These are numbered, reversible tokens which can be used in place of large groups of miniatures in tabletop roleplaying games like Pathfinder. One side features a number, while the other features an 'x' to indicate that the creature has been incapacitated. My group uses several colour-coded sets of these to help with large encounters. I use a fairly long (and, it must be admitted, tedious) process to make these look good. After printing, I glue each numbered token to an "x" token, and leave the glue to set. After that, I sand and wipe down the token to remove layer lines and other artifacts of printing. Next, I spray each token with a layer of primer, then paint each token individually with layers of base and accent paint. If you're willing to sacrifice quality, you could probably achieve a similar result by just using different colours of plastic, and by replacing downed units with separate "x" tokens. I designed the tokens in Google Sketchup, sliced them into GCode using Slic3r, then printed them in natural PLA with Repetier Host and a Printrbot LC. I use Games Workshop products for paint, primer, and plastic thick glue.
