The Blue Falcon (Falco Brovus Foxtroti)- one of 38 species of raptor existing throughout the world. They can be found nesting on US Air Force bases but may migrate to other military stations. Although named "blue" falcon, the falcon is rarely blue. In most areas, it is a sage green. Their plumage may change dependent on environmental factors. For instance in San Diego, California and Norfolk, Virginia, they are indeed blue. In San Antonio Texas and central Ohio, they are sage green. Though blue falcons live on and around active runways, they have never the object of a birdstrike; however they are suspected to be responsible for the vast majority of US military loss of aircraft incidents. Although this cannot be proven. The Blue Falcon is a very obvious predator. Prey can see the blue falcon approaching, but can do nothing to get out of the way. Furthermore, the blue falcon can prey on the same food source over and over again. Picking away until it slowly dies. The blue falcon is at the top of the food chain. The only animal known to prey on blue falcons is other blue falcons. The blue falcon has pseudo-parasitic tendencies. It will disguise itself as the chick of a larger bird of prey. Tossing the nest mates out onto the cold ground to die. When the blue falcon sees an even larger bird of prey, it will turn on it's adoptive parent, slowly feeding on it and moving on to the larger bird's nest. I put words on that other guy's maltese falcon.
