pens going missing? then tether it down! i got sick of pens going missing in dispatch at work so i whipped this up to tether the pen down like in the post office. using builders line to join the pieces by feeding the ends through the holes and ties knots to lock them in. the v2 cap is a fit for staedtler stick 430 M requires; a pen, drill, locking screw(s), builders line, optional glue. added tiedown with simple tube for pen stand.cap printed in .2 or .3 layers, 26-33% fill PLA tether was printed in .1 with 35% fill PLA cut with cura 15 tether block needs a 1/16th hole drilled for the line, 3-4mm button head screw to anchor the tether to your surface. cap needs a 1/16th bit to clean the rear hole depending on your finish. then use a small screw into the side of the cap to lock the pen in place. pre-tap a hole in the side of the cap and pen to thread the screw into. alternatively use glue to hold the pen in place. builders leveling line is cheap, thin and does not hold a shape. i knotted the builders line with a double overhand stopper knot. seal the ends with heat. knot should be small enough to fit the tether block flush. 123D masters supplied for your customization and remix.
