This is parametric pot stirrer. It has a 12V motor attached to the top of the shaft (10RPM from ebay) which rests on the top of the pot. It runs off an adaptor, but could easily run off batteries depending on how much power is required to run it. To enable quick and easy detachment of the motor from the stirrer it uses a modified version of my Parametric spider coupling inspired by the Turbo Mixer. The spider is not required, as with one-way rotation backlash is not an issue The default current stirrer is designed for an 11cm flat base pot, but this can be easily adjusted in the SCAD file. EDIT 16/6/13: New SCAD uploaded with a few more options for the hub attachment. My initial version distorted while cooking porridge, and the blades were too close, so tended to clog with a range of things (rice, lentils, etc) so I've spaced them out a bit more. I'm unsure whether I'll be able to change the profile to stop the heat-distortion, or whether I'll just have to cast it in something a bit more heat-proof or try nylon printing... I covered the plastic overhanging the edge of the pot with Kapton, and that survived fine. Print the parts Vitamins: Motor (12V DC 10RPM high torque) Batteries and holder, or DC power supply Aluminium struts (10x10mm used in print, but edit the scad for whatever profile you like. I ultimately used m8 threaded rod as I had some lying around. M3 nuts and screws to fix the struts to the motor and the supports to the struts M8 shaft and a couple of nuts (optional self-locking as above) to go in the coupler and blades. It may be possible to print the shaft attached to the blades, but I'm not sure if it will withstand the shearing rotation if printed vertically attached to the blade. Drill holes in the struts at varying locations to enable use with a number of different sized pots - just move supports along depending on the size of the pot/container. Different sizes of stirrers can be made depending on container size - as long as the jaw coupling is the same size the one motor/topend will drive them all. Happy stirring...
