This limestone panel of a Native American Warrior is the mate to the Native American Maiden, both of which are mounted by the Phillips Avenue entrance to the First National Bank Building. Like his mate, he and the nearby limestone eagle are the sole survivors of the former 1920s bank building decor. During the push for urban renewal that swept America in the 1950s-1970s, anything old-fashioned was deemed unworthy of being saved and met an ignominious end with a wrecking ball. Fortunately, these limestone panels and sculpture were saved. The warrior and his maiden are a popular spot for people to pose with.
