This Steinmetz solid is the solid common to three right circular cylinders of equal radii intersecting at right angles. It pairs nicely with the Three Intersection Cylinders object (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:917132). This model was designed and printed by my WLU summer research student Emily Jaekle ('16). See http://mathvis.academic.wlu.edu/2015/07/12/three-intersecting-cylinders/.This object was made on a MakerBot2X. We used the following settings: 2 shells 0.20mm layer height 10% infill (hexagonal pattern) Color matched supports Raft off The top half of the solid looked fantastic. However, on one small part of the bottom, it looked like the plastic had cooled too quickly. (This may not be a problem with other printers.) We then printed the object with a different orientation. There were fewer problems with this build. Overall the object was a success.
