defcon3d - The closest thing that is like this in the market place now is the 3Doodler. This was a project on Kickstarter last year that met with great success. I have a couple of friends that have these and they do have that've their uses. One guy I know of uses it to repair his models before sanding and painting.

sd3dprinting - We have used our 3Doodler at events to get people involved and to help them understand the FDM/FFF process better. As for practical usage, we have found that they are useful for quick ideation, repairing models and literally doodling. We actually drew a replacement bracket for one of our printers from scratch which is still in use and running strong. It looks a little questionable, but its a good talking point when people notice it :)

vinnie90 - I just bought a 3Doodler yesterday and exactly what everyone said above is what I will be doing.

The 3Doodle works off of 3.mm filament? Has anyone tried 1.75 or you think it will jam it up?

I use 1.75 in all my machines and Plastic is not that expensive but I dont want to buy 2 pounds for a pen.
