A Tolkien Fan's Thoughts on "The Rings of Power's" Galadriel
Released on September 2nd, 2022, Prime Video's "Rings of Power" is a television show inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth. It is set thousands of years before the Twenty Rings of Power were forged, and, more notably, one of its main characters is the elf Galadriel.

The show's portrayal of Galadriel has left fans divided. Some enjoy her character and the actress's depiction of it, while others thought it was badly written and ill-conceived.

What do you think?

As a Tolkien fan myself, I decide to address it in the blog post below:

elinedesign - I've seen a lot of talk about Galadriel in "The Rings of Power," and it's been a mix of good and bad. For me, seeing a new take on Galadriel and Middle Earth was pretty cool, but I get why some fans might not be all in. It's different from the books, so I had to keep an open mind.

Talking about Tolkien's world, it's hard not to think about characters like Grima Wormtongue. Learning more about him, like how he was working for Saruman and had this creepy thing for Éowyn, really shows how good Tolkien was at making characters that feel real and complicated, even the bad guys.
