An X carriage for the Mendel90 which can carry extruders that require a round hole, e.g. Budaschnozzle, Arcol hot end and other "BfB type" hot ends.It is recommended to print this part out of ABS plastic due to the fact that it is close to a lot of heated parts in the printer. Print it with a fill density of 50% using a hexagonal fill pattern, as per the Mendel90 Build Manual (http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Mendel90_Build_Manual)For this print, a heated bed will almost certainly be required due to large warping forces. If using slic3r, try using the "brim" setting to help stop edges lifting. I set my brim to be about 7mm wide for this print. The .stl file provided should fit most Mendel90s generated using the standard settings with LM8UU bearings and T5 timing belts.OPENSCAD INSTRUCTIONS:If you want to be able to generate your own carriage from the .scad files, you must move the .scad file "budaschnozzle_x-carriage.scad" into the folder "Mendel90/scad/" this is necessary as the .scad file relies on files from Nophead's Mendel90.NOTE:Due to the fact that the hole for the extruder and thus the tip has to be shifted around slightly to accomodate for bearing holders, etc. you will lose some print area on each axis. In this case, with the generated .stl, you will lose about 3mm on the X and Y axes.
