
If your locker or refrigerator needs a little freshening up, try out this vase. It prints a half vase with cutouts to hold magnets. The design is based on anoved's excellent Customizable Bezier Vase script. The included STL is for a 10 cm vase using four 1/4 x 1/16 inch neodymium magnets. If you want a different shape or have different magnets, use the customer. See the instructions for full details on printing and assembly. . September 29, 2014: Fixed a problem with the OpenScad. Magnet holes should be the right size now. Customizer didn't like the diameter property I was using.The customerizer defaults create the enclosed STL. Use it if you want to adjust the shape or size of the vase. You can also use it if your magnets are not 1/4 x 1/16 inch. If your magnets are much thicker they may protrude into the interior of the vase. I don't think this should matter too much though. The four 1/4 x 1/16 inch provide more than enough holding power. If you go with bigger magnets you may not want to put all four on. Print the design using a high infill (90%) to make a sturdy vase. I used two perimeters, 0.2 mm layer height, and a 0.4 mm nozzle. Depending on how well your printer does overhangs, you may get a little sagging at the top of the magnet holes. This can be cleaned out relatively easily with a knife. Glue the magnets in using your favorite glue (super glue works well). A couple of drops of acetone can also work if you are using ABS and the holes are snug. You can get fake flowers from craft stores. Take the vase along so you can make sure the stem(s) fit. Clip the stems to right length. Some tissue can be packed into the vase to hold the flower straight.
