A simple, but really effective and strong ratchet joint I designed for a large scale project that has since been back burneredPrint the parts, find an appropriate sized compression spring, go to town. Ideally you'd want to mount the assembly IN something, and have some other part fixed to the post, but I left it simple and primitive so it would be easy to iterate.
