this is the same as the original but the bottom lens hood petal has been removed to lighten and make it catch less wind from the props. the original still works great but the bottom part of the hood is completely unnecessary when used with a quadcopter. This hood is not designed for protection (it has even less protection than the original, It would be best (but possibly heavier) if printed with Ninjaflex filament (amazon link for filament http://goo.gl/hByQn4) This should be printed it as light as possible so you dont effect the balance of the gimbal too much The lens hood is a press fit and can be used with the gopro when not on the gimbal.
