The new version does not latch into a closed position and is suitable to drive with a motor, etc. To clarify, choose the version of the gear based on desired action. Gear v2 - Latching Gear v3 - Smooth running Enjoy! Update 6/9/14: Added DXF files, so hopefully people with laser cutters can try this out too. Update: 2/27/14: New Version (2.1) of the arm. I replaced the pins with simple holes. Use raw 1.75mm filament for the pins/rivets, using the methods described here for using rivets as hinges. Units are now in Metric. Print two identical gears and one Left & Right side arm. For a nice texture use 'Hilbert Curve' for the first and last layer of the seahorse gears.
