A fractal ornament for your Christmas tree. Merry Thingimas!I really like the Koch snowflake - it is a very balanced shape that always strikes me as being quite festive. Here, I have punched the snowflake through the heart of a sphere and added a hanger to make a Christmas ornament. It prints out very well on my Ultimaker with no fill. It needs a wall thickness of about 0.8mm to give it some mechanical strength, but still keep it quite light. It does not need any support, because the hanger on the top (on the side when you print) is inset into the body of the sphere sufficiently to make the slight overhang very manageable for most printers. Similarly, because of the truncated Snowflake faces, the overhang on the sphere is very small. This is a derivative of Koch Snowflake Vase 1. If you want to play about with the SCAD file, you will need to also download Koch Snowflake Vase 1 to get my Koch Snowflake library.Enjoy!
